Revamp Your Aerial Photography with the Portable and Affordable DJI Flip Drone

The tech giant, DJI, has just unveiled another compact drone, the Flip. Having a foldable design and featuring propeller guards, this drone offers a mixture of portability and safety.

It seems DJI is strategically blending the easy handling of the DJI Neo and the breathtaking photo abilities of the DJI Mini in this moderately priced drone. At a cost of $439, the Flip is notably more budget-friendly than other comparable drones.

The Flip is designed for adventurous photographers and videographers, as it allows 4K video recording at 60FPS and superb slow motion capture at 100FPS. Still image enthusiasts aren’t left out either, with the drone’s ability to snap 48-megapixel shots with a 4x zoom capability.

Weighing in at 249 grams, the Flip matches the Mavic Mini’s weight, and offers significantly better battery life than its siblings, lasting a reported 31 minutes per charge. This gives users more flying and recording time for each outing.

Safety features aren’t overlooked, as the Flip comes equipped with automated braking to prevent altitude-related accidents and enhanced charging and data speeds. Its Local Data Mode feature also allows for internet disconnection during flights, analogous to an airplane mode on smartphones.

The Flip will commence shipping in the US from Tuesday. But with the evolving drone regulations, the future of its availability in the states is uncertain.
