Social media platform Bluesky, a competitor to Twitter, has recently launched an update that includes two significant features: a “followers only” option for replies and a “search posts” function.
The “followers only” feature allows users to limit replies to their posts to their own followers. This helps prevent unwanted attention and “content collapse,” where replies from non-followers can crowd out meaningful conversations. Unlike Twitter’s more granular reply controls, Bluesky’s option is a simple on/off setting.
The “search posts” feature enables users to search for specific posts from a particular user’s profile. This is useful for finding a specific post when you know the author but not the exact post content.
Both features are available in the latest version of the Bluesky app. The “followers only” option can be enabled in the Settings section under Moderation > Interaction Settings. To use the “search posts” feature, simply search within a user’s profile.
