NATO has launched its first-ever cohort of European dual-use technology startups through its Defense Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA) program. This initiative aims to enhance Europe’s defense capabilities by leveraging the latest advancements in technology.
The inaugural cohort, selected from over 2,400 applications, comprises five startups specializing in artificial intelligence, electronics, semiconductors, and materials science. These startups will participate in a six-month program designed to accelerate their growth and connect them with key stakeholders in the defense sector.
“With DIANA, we’re fostering the development of cutting-edge technologies that can serve both military and civilian needs,” said Tanya Suarez, CEO of IOT Tribe, a partner in the program.
The DIANA program is a collaboration between NATO and the United Kingdom’s Defense and Security Accelerator (DASA). It provides a platform for startups to showcase their capabilities, access mentorship, and gain a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by defense organizations.
