As per Bloomberg, Meta is progressing its Reality Labs project with an AI-assisted Oakley smart glasses model, devised particularly for athletes. The ambitious venture stems from the success of the Ray-Ban Meta glasses.
The Oakley-centric smart glasses by Meta aim to earn favor with Oakley’s fan-base prevalent among athletes like cyclists, runners, and rowers in hope of pushing the smart glasses technology into mainstream use.
The report also suggests that the upcoming smart glasses may feature their camera at the center of the frame, a change from the Ray-Ban Meta glasses.
Besides the Oakley smart glasses, Meta is casting its net wide by probing into a vast spectrum of AI-powered gadgets, including a smartwatch, camera-fitted earbuds, and even a lavish $1,000 pair of smart glasses that integrate an AR display on the lower right lens.
