Meta AI, the company’s AI-powered chatbot, has officially arrived in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, making the service accessible to millions. This expansion follows the initial launch in October 2023, which included Brazil and the United Kingdom.
Users in Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Libya, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen can now access Meta AI through social media apps like Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger. By tagging “@meta” in a chat, users can interact with the chatbot to seek recommendations, create stylized selfies with the “Imagine Me” tool, and utilize audio dubbing for Instagram Reels.
Meta AI now supports Arabic, in addition to 13 other languages. It is currently available in 42 countries, with over 700 million active users across WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, and Facebook.
The specific features and functionality of Meta AI may vary depending on the region due to factors such as data privacy regulations. In some European countries, for instance, the chatbot’s capabilities are limited on Ray-Ban Meta AR glasses due to data protection concerns.
