IVF Insurance: Future Family Offers Reimbursement Guarantee

For years, couples undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) have faced significant financial burdens without any guarantee of a successful outcome. Future Family, a San Francisco-based startup, aims to alleviate this stress with its innovative IVF insurance product.

Future Family’s Orange Shield insurance provides a unique “money-back guarantee” for IVF patients. For a 20% upfront payment, couples can secure coverage for two IVF cycles. If no live birth occurs after two attempts or if the baby is lost within two weeks of birth, families can file a claim for reimbursement.

The average cost of Orange Shield insurance is $3,000 down and $999 per month for five months. This covers all IVF-related expenses up to a maximum limit of $50,000. The insurance can be paid in monthly installments or as a lump sum.

Eligibility for Orange Shield insurance is subject to underwriting factors such as age and medical history. While patients 38 years or older using their own eggs are not eligible, they may qualify if using donor eggs. Other factors considered include lifestyle habits, egg or sperm sources, and infertility history.

Since its launch in 2016, Future Family has assisted over 10,000 families in navigating the IVF process, providing fertility financing, egg freezing, and coaching. The company has also distributed $200 million in credit. Future Family has secured $150 million in funding from investors, including Munich Re Ventures and TriVentures.

Future Family’s IVF insurance is a groundbreaking solution that eases the financial burden and emotional toll of IVF treatment. It empowers couples to pursue their family-building journey with greater peace of mind, knowing that they have a safety net in place.
