Google I/O Developer Conference: Scheduled for May 20-21, 2025

Google has officially announced that its annual I/O developer conference will take place on May 20-21, 2025, at the well-known Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View.

The two-day event caters to both the general public and developers, featuring an opening keynote address by CEO Sundar Pichai on May 20th. The conference will then transition into specialized breakout sessions designed for developers.

Over the past few years, Google I/O has heavily emphasized artificial intelligence (AI), and this trend is anticipated to continue in 2025. The rapidly evolving AI landscape, fueled by competition from OpenAI, DeepSeek, and others, will likely be a major focus of the event.

If you’re eager for updates, the I/O 2025 website is now live, offering access to developer content from previous years, such as Gemma, Google AI Studio, and NotebookLM.

Google’s I/O conference will face some competition this year, with Microsoft Build scheduled for May 19-22 in Seattle. However, the developer conference season officially begins with Nvidia’s GTC from March 17-21, followed by Apple’s WWDC in June.
