International Police Cooperation Shuts Down Cybercrime Platforms
European policing agency Europol and Germany’s BKA acted recently to secure the closure of Cracked and Nulled – classified as two of the world’s leading cybercrime trading hubs online.
In an exercise branded “Operation Talent”, the agencies redirected nameservers to systems controlled by the FBI, leading to the temporary closure of not only Cracked and Nulled but also Sellix and StarkRDP.

Cybercrime ‘One-Stop Shops’ Now Closed
The four affected platforms functioned as discussion points and markets trading in black-market goods like stolen data, malware, and hacking utilities. The move resulted in the seizure of critical objects, including 17 servers, numerous electronic devices, and cash in euros and cryptocurrencies, and led to two arrests.
Law enforcement identified persons operating these cybercrime venues across ten nations, leading to further arrests of German citizens in both Germany and Spain. Information obtained during the operation, in which multiple international agencies participated, included email and IP addresses as well as communication histories.

Operation Talent and Its Impact on Cybercrime
Operation Talent continues the global law enforcement trend against cybercrime forums. Other similar projects have included the seizing of ill-famed BreachForums and operations impacting hacking service and malware producers with serious subsequent arrests.
