Cameron John Wagenius, a former US Army soldier, has pleaded guilty to hacking AT&T and Verizon and illegally obtaining a substantial amount of phone records. According to a court document, he pleaded guilty to charges of “unlawful transfer of confidential phone records information.”
Wagenius faces potential fines of up to $250,000 and prison sentences of up to 10 years for each of the two counts. His involvement in the hacks was linked to the indictment of Connor Moucka and John Binns, accused of a series of data breaches, including the 2024 Snowflake hacks.
By hacking into Snowflake instances, the perpetrators stole data from numerous companies, including AT&T, LendingTree, Santander Bank, Ticketmaster, and approximately 160 others.
