As unveiled at Samsung Unpacked 2025, Google aims to simplify your information hunts with an update to its Circle to Search feature. Circle to Search was initially introduced as a mechanism for gesture-based searches on any part of a phone screen.
Google now integrates AI Overviews, extensively broadening the scope of visual results for places, trending images, unique objects, and more through Circle to Search. Initially, AI Overviews were incorporated into Circle to Search for image and text-based queries. An updated edition of Circle to Search will offer AI Overviews without the need for additional text or questions.
Suppose you come across an enchanting art piece in a museum. Circling it will provide an AI snapshot with useful information regarding the piece and internet links to delve deeper.
This new functionality is accessible to all Android devices that support AI Overviews.
Moreover, Google is working to make daily tasks on phones more manageable via Circle to Search. The updated feature now has the capability to identify numbers, email addresses, and URLs on your screen. Circling or tapping a phone number, email, or URL while holding down the home button brings up an action chip to further interact with the information.
This updated feature is rolling out for Android devices equipped with Circle to Search.
