Dewey Introduces a Lifesaver: Backup Your Beloved TikTok Favorites Anytime

With the future of TikTok remaining unclear in the United States, numerous apps have been vying to pull TikTok traffic their way. But one bookmarking service, Dewey, has found a unique solution: it allows for the backup of your favorite TikTok videos, ensuring their accessibility anytime, even if TikTok goes offline again.

Launched in May 2021 primarily for Twitter bookmark organizing, Dewey has now widened its spectrum. It offers tools for backing up bookmarks and saved content from multiple platforms like Bluesky, Threads, LinkedIn, Truth Social, and your regular browser bookmarks. Plans to extend support to Reddit and Instagram are underway, shows the company’s website.

The impending TikTok suspension served as a catalytic moment for Dewey to refocus its attention on this buzzing platform. Dewey co-founder, Tom Harari, in a TechCrunch interview revealed that the team set up an emergency plan last week to enable the backup of TikTok bookmarks. This adds a novelty factor as Dewey has notably for the first time accommodated a video-centric social network.

With the launch of their new TikTok backup feature, Dewey allows users to effortlessly move their TikTok Favorites and Collections into their feed, ensuring their videos’ longevity. TikTok Collections have been conveniently allocated their own space on Dewey’s sidebar. Besides this, recent additions to Dewey include supporting apps like Threads and Truth Social.

Dewey offers a free service for one account with paid plans beginning at $7.50 per month, enabling backup for unlimited accounts, and other benefits like advanced search, automatic syncing, and export features.
