Decoding Samsung’s 2025 Unpacked Event: Stream, Expectations and More

The Samsung Unpacked event’s big revelation at CES last week was yet another press announcement. The hardware giant enticed their audience by teasing about their forthcoming event. Scheduled for the coming Wednesday at 10 a.m., PT, the event is a highly-anticipated one.

Following the trend of the recent Unpacked events, the upcoming show will be digitally streamed via Samsung’s website and also, their YouTube Channel. Samsung’s enthusiasm to get the preorders starter before the event is evident from their offer of $50 Samsung store credit for reservations made prior to the event.

The highlight of the event is expected to be the Galaxy S25 series. Samsung has adopted a bi-yearly flagship release pattern – rolling out the Galaxy S series at the beginning of the year, followed by new foldable phones in Summers. The much-awaited S25 line should consist of three main models – the S25, S25+, and the premium S25 Ultra, which is the result of the S series merging with the Galaxy Note.

Rumors indicate that the S25 will bear strong similarities to its predecessor, with a sleeker design being the prime change. Talk of Samsung possibly shaving 1-2 millimeters off the device’s profile has been doing rounds. Another speculation is the inclusion of the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip unveiled by Qualcomm last fall.

Samsung’s Galaxy AI is poised to be the core feature as Samsung strives to differentiate its offerings from Google Gemini features available across Android devices. Other potential reveals could include an heir to the lukewarm Galaxy Ring wearable, and insiders’ view at Project Moohan, an extended reality headset being developed in collaboration with Google.
