Cybersecurity Breach Confirmed as Cause of Conduent Outage

The U.S. tech firm Conduent has confirmed that a significant outage experienced recently was indeed a result of a cybersecurity incident. Conduent, known for its role in facilitating public services like child support and food assistance, acknowledged the issue to TechCrunch earlier this week.

The saga unfolded when key services were disrupted, leaving some citizens without access to their much-needed support payments. Although the company initially remained tight-lipped about the incident’s origin, Conduent spokesperson Sean Collins later confirmed the cybersecurity incident to be the cause of the disruption, without revealing any finer details.

According to Collins, “This incident was contained, and all systems have been restored back to normalcy.” Furthermore, he emphasized the company’s commitment to maintaining the integrity and functionality of their systems, as it significantly matters to both Conduent and their clients.

A controversy remains as the company has yet to disclose any potential data exfiltration resulting from the cybersecurity breach, leaving many stakeholders with unanswered questions.
