Recently, ENGlobal, a prominent U.S. engineering firm, confirmed a cyberattack in November 2024. The hackers managed to compromise “sensitive personal information” from their systems.
ENGlobal, pioneers in engineering and automation services for federal bodies and significant infrastructure units, mentioned the cyberattack in an updated 8-K filing with the U.S. securities regulator. As per the report, the attackers also “encrypted certain data files,” signifying a potential ransomware attack. This led to a six-week outage of several business applications, including financial reporting systems.
The Texas-based company is yet to disclose the number of individuals affected or the exact data compromised but promises to inform those impacted. ENGlobal continues to remain mute to any queries regarding the breach.
Moreover, ENGlobal has declared its operations to be “fully restored” post the cyberattack and affirms that the unnamed malefactor doesn’t possess access to their IT systems any longer.
