Character AI Tests Web-Based Games to Boost User Involvement

As part of its initiative to amplify user interaction, AI startup Character AI is testing new games on its web applications for both desktop and mobile. The trial games are designed to play along with the AI characters earlier used for chats.

Available to subscribers and a constrained group of free users, Character AI has launched two games, Speakeasy and War of Words. These games open up in chats with a game controller icon allowing users to engage in playful battle with their AI counterparts.

Speakeasy challenges users to incite the chatbot to utter a specific word, evading a listed set of five. Whereas War of Words takes the users in head-to-head conflict run over five rounds with the AI, arbitrated by another AI. This initiative aims to make the Character AI platform even more engaging.

Character AI has always been aiming at more than AI companionship. The startup aims to offer a comprehensive, interactive and fun-filled platform. This all-new feature of introducing games is likely to fortify that aim even more. Games have been used in platforms like YouTube, LinkedIn, Netflix, etc., to upsurge user engagement. Likely, Character AI is also pursuing the same path to increase user time spent on the platform.

The company has undergone some top-level changes in the past, however remained unwavering in enhancing the platform. Character AI’s strategy reflects its goal to become an influential player in the AI entertainment industry.
