The revelation presents a spike to 78% when considering iPhones launched within the past four years. Meanwhile, 19% rely on iOS 17, and 13% are utilizing an older iteration. The numbers follow a similar trend with recently released iPhones, with 19% running on iOS 17.
The dependency on older iOS constructions is as low as 5%, a logical outcome considering the concentration of devices supplied with either iOS 17 or 18. User tendencies to sustain their devices with cutting-edge OS updates are also a factor. As reported by 9 to 5 Mac, these numbers closely mirror figures related to iOS 17 adoption in 2024.
iOS 18 brings to the table Apple’s compact generative AI model, Apple Intelligence – an integral feature of the system’s initial major update, 18.1.
