AI-powered QA Engineer “Testpilot” Unveiled by Jetify

Renamed from its original title Jetpack.io, Jetify has announced its first venture into the AI zone with the product, Testpilot. This AI agent is built to automate most of the routine testing processes, allowing developers to focus on other tasks while Testpilot runs the diagnostics and delivers a detailed report. As of now, Testpilot is optimized for web applications, with provisions for mobile application testing to be implemented soon.

Previously, Jetify was mostly involved in generating dev environments for cloud computing. However, Testpilot signifies a shift in their focus towards AI agents designed for the betterment of software development lifecycle. The company’s CEO, Daniel Loreto, correlates AI with a major technological revolution akin to the advent of the internet or mobile technologies, thereby justifying the company’s newfound focus.

Testpilot specifically targets the prevalent issues faced by developers, such as the brittleness of existing tools like Selenium in accommodating changes in the User Interface. Testpilot, fortified with AI capabilities, remains unaffected by such a shift, thus making it more reliable.

According to Loreto, marketing Testpilot is simpler as QA teams are accustomed to utilizing third-party tools for testing their applications. Testpilot also ensures seamless integration into the ongoing development process, requiring only the application’s login access and not any underlying code access.

While acknowledging that it covers 60-70% of potential human-devised tests, indicating a slight gap, Jetify continues to view the product as a substantial value-addition to their clients. Furthermore, they are planning to roll out a self-service version of Testpilot, while meticulously studying various pricing strategies to ensure the best fit for their customers.
