FriendliAI accused Brooklyn-based Hugging Face of infringing its patent on “batching with iteration-level scheduling,” a technique that enhances the batching data process in AI systems. This technology allows AI systems to process multiple requests concurrently—FriendliAI targeted Hugging Face’s Text Generation Inference tool, which employs this patented method.
