TikTok CEO Acknowledges Trump’s Efforts to Overturn US Ban

Shou Zi Chew, TikTok CEO, responded to Donald Trump’s stance against a potential US ban on the application. Pledging his support on the app, CEO Chew publicized his appreciation for Trump’s efforts in a TikTok video.

Chew conveyed his thanks to President Trump, stating, “We value the President’s commitment to collaborate on a potential solution. This upholds the principles of the First Amendment by opposing arbitrary censorship.” Clearly, TikTok’s Chinese ownership leverages Trump’s support to remain operational in the US.

Moreover, Trump showcased himself as TikTok’s protector, disclosing his negotiation phases with China’s President, Xi Jinping, on Truth Social. He hopes to sustain the platform’s usability within American borders.

“We are appreciative to have the backing of a President who comprehends our platform,” Chew added. Stating that Trump himself had connected with the world through TikTok, and accumulated more than 60 billion views, Chew reassured the audiences that every possible measure would be taken to ensure TikTok’s flourishing status and availability.

The Supreme Court’s decision earlier on Friday, effectively permitting the TikTok ban, has left people apprehensive about the app’s future. As of now, it behooves us to wait and see whether the ban will indeed materialize this Sunday, or whether Trump’s administration could broker a satisfactory resolution.

Meanwhile, several TikTok alternatives have emerged for users to explore in the anticipation of the possible disruption.
