Anduril’s Billion-dollar Defense Tech Megafactory, Arsenal-1, Stakes its Ground in Ohio

On Thursday, Anduril Industries validated former rumors by confirming its decision to construct its giant weapons factory, the Arsenal-1, in Columbus, Ohio. The post, released by the company, states that nearly $1 billion of the firm’s finances would be allocated to the project, spanning over 5 million square feet and potentially generating 4000 job positions in the locality.

Founded by Palmer Luckey, Trae Stephens among others, this significant move marks robust growth for the defense tech startup. It enables Anduril to amplify the manufacturing of its autonomous systems designed for surveillance and weaponry on a larger scale.

Ohio’s strategic location played a crucial role in this choice, particularly due to its proximity to Rickenbacker Airport. This places the company in the vicinity of 12,000-foot runways and grants it 500 acres of expandable land, suggesting potential for further expansion.
