Artists Can Now List Events on SoundCloud Through Ticketmaster Partnership

Leading music streaming platform SoundCloud has teamed up with Ticketmaster and Universe, a Live Nation subsidiary, to empower artists with the ability to showcase upcoming events directly on their profiles. This strategic partnership offers artists enhanced promotional opportunities, enabling them to seamlessly connect with fans and promote their live performances.

As part of the collaboration, artists subscribed to SoundCloud’s Pro plan can now utilize the self-service platform Universe to list their events on their profiles. This feature allows them to manage their event listings conveniently within the SoundCloud ecosystem, removing the need to navigate external platforms. Artists have the flexibility to customize their event displays and highlight the shows they wish to promote.

SoundCloud will aggregate event data from various ticketing platforms, including Ticketmaster and Dice, providing artists with a centralized view of their upcoming events. Artists can then curate which events to showcase on their profiles. Additionally, they can manually add links to external ticketing platforms if desired.

To enhance event discovery, SoundCloud will feature a concert discovery widget on its homepage, powered by Ticketmaster data. This widget will allow users to browse events based on location, date, and genre. Furthermore, SoundCloud will receive a 1% revenue share from any affiliate ticket sales generated through Ticketmaster links on its platform.

Prior to this partnership, SoundCloud had a limited integration with Resident Advisor that only displayed an artist’s latest events. However, the new collaboration with Ticketmaster and Universe offers more comprehensive customization options and a wider reach for artists.

The integration of event display and ticket sales has emerged as a growing trend among music streaming platforms. In 2022, Spotify initiated testing of direct ticket sales within its app. Additionally, the company is reportedly exploring a subscription model that would grant subscribers early access to concert tickets.
