Apple’s iOS 18.4 Unveils “Priority Notifications” for Enhanced Notifications Management

Apple has released the first developer beta for its upcoming iOS 18.4, a significant update that introduces a groundbreaking feature called “Priority Notifications.” This feature, powered by Apple’s advanced Intelligence technology, aims to revolutionize how users handle their notifications.

Priority Notifications are designed to filter and prioritize important alerts, separating them from less urgent ones. This intelligent system analyzes notifications and presents the most crucial ones on a dedicated section of the Lock Screen. While chronological sorting remains an option, the new feature ensures that essential notifications remain visible, even if received earlier than others.

To activate Priority Notifications, users can navigate to the Settings app, select “Notifications,” and toggle the “Prioritize Notifications” option. This setting empowers users to customize their notification experience, giving them greater control over the information they receive.

In addition to this notable feature, Apple has also announced the expansion of Apple Intelligence to the Vision Pro through visionOS 2.4. This latest software update provides developers with beta access, while the public release is scheduled for April. Apple News+ is also receiving an update with the introduction of Apple News+ Food, a new section dedicated to searching and saving recipes from various publishing partners.
