The recently launched Samsung Galaxy S25 heralds an era of simplified access to AI, thanks to its unique, user-friendly side button. This direct line to Google Gemini was unveiled at the Samsung Unpacked 2025, a testament to Samsung’s commitment towards seamless mobile AI application.
Samsung’s attempts to spotlight Bixby, their in-house smart assistant, could not make the expected headway. This prompted a shift towards Google Gemini, on the back of its acceptance as a substitute for Google Home on Android devices.
The scope of generative AI, epitomized by Gemini, was the centerpiece of the Unpacked event. The tech industry is increasingly favoring such platforms, hinting at a future driven by advanced AI and neural cores, like the ones in Samsung Galaxy S25’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.
Google’s expansive app network, including YouTube, Maps, Messages, and Spotify, is smoothly integrated with the new Gemini function. Samsung’s own Reminder, Calendar, Notes, and Clock are also synced effortlessly.
Bixby has not been entirely sidetracked. Samsung plans to integrate it with their upcoming range of home appliances and products.
Preorders for the Samsung Galaxy S25 have begun, with deliveries estimated to start from February 7th.
