During the much-anticipated Samsung Unpacked 2025 event, the highly awaited Galaxy S25 series was unveiled – Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. Google seized the moment to announce a significant enhancement to its AI assistant, Gemini.
Effective immediately, users are treated to an elevated Gemini, boasting seamless integration across apps and services on their device. The more sophisticated Gemini now allows multiple operations across various apps via a single command. This means you can get restaurant recommendations from Google Maps and share options via Google Messages in one go.
Samsung also launched further Gemini Extensions for Samsung’s native apps – Calendar, Clock, Notes, and Reminder.
The revamped Gemini also features a more interactive Google’s voice-based option, Gemini Live. You can now rehearse a presentation with the assistant and receive instant verbal feedback. The feature also supports uploading images, files, and even YouTube videos for a more holistic and context-aware interaction.
Looking ahead, Samsung will roll out Project Astra capabilities, Google’s real-time, multimodal AI assistant, including screen sharing and live video streaming. These updates will first debut in the Gemini app on Android and subsequently the Galaxy S25 lineup.
With the launch of the Galaxy S25 series, an easily accessible side button enabling quick contact with Gemini was announced. This enables tasks like setting reminders or saving notes with just a press.
Preorders for the Samsung Galaxy S25 series are now open, with shipping commencing on February 7.
